Spanish Creek Greenbelt Wetland Habitat

How You Can Help Conserve Ecologically Valuable Land
in The Baca

People are motivated to move to Crestone and the Baca because of the quality of life it offers. The natural setting – the Sangre de Christo and San Juan mountains, San Luis Valley, and the wildlife refuges and national park at our doorstep – are unparalleled.

Preserved open space not only enhances a community's physical appearance, it also defines a community's character. When a community comes together to create open space they can all enjoy, its residents enjoy a legacy of preservation, opportunities to improve overall public health, the benefits of volunteerism, and the chance to explore the lasting value stewardship and environmental ethics contributes to local culture and history.

CBLT exists to mitigate potential adverse impacts to the landscape and our quality of life due to overdevelopment and climate change. CBLT continues its work of strengthening community bonds - building a community for conservation into the future.
